Mr Nay will be running an after school club for reception on Tuesdays, starting next week, from 3.30 - 4.15pm in school. There is only a set number of places available, but do not worry. If there is a lot of children who want to take part, we will split the group into two and run another session next half term. The club will really support the children and continue to help their physical development.

Dear Parents,
As you all know we are gearing up for our performance next week on Tuesday 15th November at the Winter Gardens. Here you should find all the final information that you may need regarding the event on Tuesday.
On this day the children will come to school as normal (wear PE kit). They will access their usual morning lessons before we all have lunch at an earlier time. This will either be a packed lunch or a school hot dinner. If your child does NOT usually have a school dinner on this day, please make sure that you have booked their school meal via ParentPay, this will be at a cost of £2.40 (remember as this is a long day we advise that you book a hot school meal as they will not be having their usual evening meal, however, you know your child and what they will/will not eat).
After this we will then get on a coach which will take us to the Winter Gardens. This is where we will remain for the rest of the day - until the show has finished. We will have 1 rehearsal on the stage and the remainder of the time we will be backstage - we therefore ask that you bring a couple of books, colouring books or puzzle books to keep you busy (nothing valuable).
After the show we will walk the children to outside the Grand theatre. This is where you will be able to collect your child from.
To clarify your checklist for the day:
- wear school tracksuit and bring a coat.
- make sure your leggings are in school ready to take with us.
- pack your bag with a couple of books, crayons and colouring book/puzzle book (no tech/valuables as belongings won’t always be supervised).
- book a school meal or bring a packed lunch for our lunchtime at school.
- bring a packed meal (in a plastic bag which is easy to throw away after) that we will eat during our evening at the Winter Gardens.
- make sure you have a snack or two and a water bottle/drinks(non fizzy) to keep you going throughout the day.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Miss Bassett and Miss Liddell
Stuart Robinson - Paralympic Athlete Visit

The things that we all took for granted before the pandemic, and then lost, are slowly coming back to life this year in school. In Autumn 1, we saw the return of competitive school sport for our Year 5 & 6 children and Miss Woodend started choir up again.

With our performance soon approaching there are a few things we want to make you aware of. By now we hope that you all have managed to book your tickets, they were selling very quickly but I know a few more have been released. We are keeping our costumes simple - not to take away from the dance. We therefore ask if you could just provide a pair of black leggings or shorts that your child could wear and we have coloured t-shirt.

We were so proud of our children as they showcased their hardwork and teamwork to perform their audition pieces. Miss Liddell and I were blown away by the diversity within our dancers. We are so excited to get going - we have lots of talented and passionate dancers!

Autumn Term Sport Timetable
It seems such a long time since we have been able to run a school sport timetable due to the recent pandemic. I am so happy that we are able to get things back in place again this year and competitions will once again get up and running.

Sport is a huge part of Our Ladys. Not only taking part in the physical aspect of it but the lessons that we learn alongside it. Next week we will be relaunching football and netball training for our Year 5 and 6 children, alongside dance. Fixtures will be agreed by the primary schools next week, once this has happened, I will produce a full timetable of extra-curricular opportunities for this half term.
Once your child has signed up, there will be a code of conduct for them to sign so that everyone is on the same page with expectations moving forward. Forms to sign up are on the Year 5 & 6 class pages, but can also be found here too.
For the children in the younger years, do not worry. Over the year you will have clubs that are run just for you too! Keep an eye on the website.
Dance club!
It is with great joy that we have the return of our Dance club this year! The club will take place every Monday at 3:30 - 4:30 for our Year 5 and 6 children. We will be learning a new dance which we will then perform during a dance festival at the Winter Gardens in November.
If you would like your child to attend please fill out the form below.
We would like the children to prepare a short dance either themselves or in pairs (small groups) that they will perform/ audition with during the first week of the dance club, Monday 12th September. This will give both myself (Miss Bassett) and Miss Lavelle to get a greater understanding of the children’s preferred dance style…. and also to pinch a few ideas ourselves!
We can’t wait to watch them!

The children will have their lunch before they leave school. They will need to be collected from school at 1.30pm to be taken to AKS by a parent or guardian. Please ensure that they have plenty of fluid for the afternoon.
The children will all be issued with school kit on Monday. They just need to ensure that they have shin pads and boots/trainers.
Any questions, please do ask.
