We have arrived at the end of our first half term and what a busy one it has been. We have just over a week to rest, recharge our batteries and get ready for another. Leading up to Christmas is always a wonderful time of the school year, we really wouldn’t want anyone to miss a second.
In Art…
Reception chose between a harvest basket or a fish bowl. We had to draw and colour what we thought should be in them.
Year one heard the story of Hairy Maclary and friends. We looked at each dog and of course Scar-face Claw the toughest tom in town and drew how we thought the fur of each would look like. We tried drawing different textures in our sketch books.
Group one from year four had their art lesson on the artist John Brunsdon, that group two had last week, this was after a lovely Harvest Festival assembly.
Year five looked at he unusual work of Frank Auerbach and using charcoal and chalk had a go at a self portrait and their partner in this style.
Art Club concluded for group one this week, everyone has enjoyed their time and said they would like to come again next year. KS1 Made a tube owl, this looked super cute and has come home already. KS2 used all the fabulously strange photos from last week to create a wonderfully weird collage of themselves. Great laughter and fun during lunch time. The next group will be selected in assembly in the first week back after the holidays.
Have a wonderful break and come back refreshed and ready for lots of exciting times.
God Bless
Mrs Curtis
