With only one week until we break up for Christmas, the excitement is everywhere. This week we were treated to KS1’s Nativity and KS2 have been perfecting their songs and scriptures, for us to enjoy in church this coming Tuesday.
In Art…
Reception sadly didn’t have Art this week as I was unfortunately off with the nasty bug that has been doing the rounds, but not to worry as Miss Neves has decorated the clay decorations with the children in my absence and I’m sure will be headed home soon.
Year one have come to an end with their topic Printmaking and so we had a little one off Creative Christmas Art. We had to Christmas ourselves. Our heads only were on paper and we added a body and some scenery. We were Elves, Santa, Angels, Fairies and Snowmen to name a few.
Year two completed their Design Technology, Wheels and axles. We finished and tested our Christmas truck and evaluated what we have learned, what went wrong and why, what we improved on and understanding the the wheel and axle mechanism. These are our moving Christmas cards this year and you will find your message under the tree.
Year three finished off their topic Collage, by making themselves into a Christmas character. Using only a photograph of their face, they had to create a Christmas scene using collage. No pencil markings, neat, precise cutting. These looked amazing, such care to detail, well done year three.
Year four had whole class maths with Mrs Kennedy after watching KS1’s wonderful Nativity. As last week we had whole class Art.
No Art for Year five, as KS2 went to church to practise their carol concert.
Year six completed their cross stitch Christmas card during today’s lesson, We have worked so hard to make these special cards. Thank you to Mr Holford who has helped with threading needles and problem solving sewing mistakes. These cards will come home next week.
Art Club has finished for group two, but group three, will be notified on the Art Club page and in class very soon. This will start the first week back in January.
Have a restful weekend, only one week until the holidays. Be kind to one another and yourselves.
God Bless.
Mrs Curtis
