It’s been a strange week for us all, those of us schooling from home and those schooling from school, all doing the same work, all trying to do our best for ourselves and each other.
In Art…
Reception were asked to create a picture with a rainbow in it, it has been lovely to see so many and lovely messages with the emails, thank you.
Year one looked at Kandinsky’s Circles and were challenged to come up with their own in any way they wanted. What verity, what colour, I was blown away by your creativity. Some even had other siblings join in, how much fun is that!
Year Two were asked to look at The Dot by Peter H Reynolds and create their very own dot, to see where their pencil/crayon/brush took them and wow did it take us! Amazing pictures year two and again, lovely emails with them.
Year three designed their own Buzzer Games, as we were in our design technology lessons. Great ideas with fantastic descriptions on how the game would work, very impressive year three.
Year four had to find shoes and draw them from different angles. Trainers were the most popular and some were very colourful, lots of attention to detail . really fabulous.
Year five looked at the solar system and chose a planet or planets. Again these could be created in any medium. We had painted, drawn and collaged. One child even made some beautiful cakes and cabbage rolls (such a shame I am unable to sample them as they looked delicious). Many year five children have sent emails which has been lovely and great to know they are enjoying their home learning.
Year six were asked to continue with their coastline and emotion Painting (although can be in any form), It was disappointing to receive only two pictures, but both had lovely emails with them, so thank you. I hope that more of you do try to do your art activity and send me your photos so we can celebrate our creativity together.
I would like to add a little fun activity for the whole family to enjoy , if you can screen shot or download the following picture you can use ‘edit’ and draw on. Please then send them to me at r.curtis@ourladystarofthesea.lancs.sch.uk . I will post these on the Art Club section of the Art & DT page. Hope you like it and have some fun.
I will add new activities for each class on the day they would normally have art, it can be done alone or with the family. Please do share the results with me, so we can share them as a school family.
Enjoy the sunshine, I miss you all and stay safe.
God bless.
Mrs Curtis
