In this first session we have looked at the fact that God loves us without question. We have the ability to make good and bad choices and most of the time we choose to love God and treat everyone in the best way we can. However, there are times when we can be selfish and not show love and concern and this has an affect on the people around us.
We have talked about the times when we have been selfish and we have used the word ‘sin’ - meaning we have done something on purpose, which has hurt our relationship with God and other people.
The children have also looked at the story of The Prodigal Son and thought about how God is like the father and we are sometimes like the son. No matter what we have done He loves us just the same. We have also discussed how we all need rescuing at times by finding the way to manage our feelings and saying “sorry” for what we have done.
For the next session please complete pages 1-15 of the ‘Making Things Right’ book. Discuss the activities with your child to deepen their understanding.
