Good Morning Year 2,
I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s learning and are ready for the new day ahead.
Here are Tuesday’s Maths and English lessons.
Phonics
Access the RWI sessions below. All the children would benefit from accessing the set 3 sounds lesson, however some might also benefit from the other sessions.
Set 1 Speed Sounds at 9.30 am
Set 2 Speed Sounds at 10.00 am
Set 3 Speed Sounds at 10.30 am
If you do however, feel that these sessions are not really benefiting your child, please do feel free to access reading materials for a little longer instead.
Reading
Continue reading and quizzing on books using the Accelerated Reading and Epic Reading resources. Help can be found in the ‘How to help your child’ section of my page if you need it.
It also isn’t too late to sign up for the Epic Reading resource. If you would like access to a huge range of books, some with quizzes, please send an email to l.woodend@ourladystarofthesea.lancs.sch.uk. This will enable me to send you an invite to create an account.
Please complete the comprehension attached below:
English
This week I have chosen another story to access on Serial Mash, called ‘Daisy and the Memory Box’. Today, I would like you to go to your Purple Mash ‘2Dos’, read Chapter 2 and complete the other activities set. Please don’t forget that there are other activities for you to access that are linked to this story. These can be found by clicking ‘Serial Mash’ on your Purple Mash home screen, ‘Diamonds’ and then the story ‘Daisy and the Memory Box’. The ‘GPS activities’ PDF is great for extra learning, so please do take a look.

Keep looking at your spelling competition.
Maths
Go to https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/ to access today’s maths work:
You must scroll down to the bottom of the page and click - ‘Summer Term - Week 2 (w/c 27th April)’ and then access ‘Lesson 2 - Order Lengths’ (we are a week ahead due to only having one week off at Easter).

I have also set a maths competition for today.
If you do have any extra time, don’t forget that you can work through any incomplete IXL sections.
Don’t forget to check the weekly challenges for learning in other areas!
Enjoy,
Miss Woodend
