Good morning everyone, another Friday! You are doing so well with your learning children, you are making us and your parents very proud with your determination and resilience. This makes it so tricky to choose the certificates, who will it be?
Reading
Keep reading. You are doing a great job! Don’t forget to read for at least 30 minutes today and then take a quiz if you have finished your book. Remember you get the most points towards your target if you get 100% on your quizzes. Remember the link to Accelerated Reader quizzes is on the orange ‘How to help your child’ button, it will take you straight to the log in page that you see in school. How are you progressing up the rainbow? Don’t forget to let us know when you reach 100% of your target so that we can celebrate with everyone.
Maths fluency answers from yesterday
Here is a little video of me marking yesterday’s maths fluency, make sure you watch this before you attempt today’s, it should help you.
Maths
Fluency
Have a look on Purple Mash and complete the last of your fluency sheets for this week (named Maths fluency 22.1.2021). Apologies if those fluency boxes have been a bit pesky to write or type in the last couple of days. I have hopefully ironed out any niggles with them now. You are such Sadie Spiders!
Top tips
Don’t forget to set out any questions which need some working out in your maths book before you set the timer.
Copy answers from your maths book on to your Purple Mash 2do after the timer goes off.
This will then give you the whole 7 minutes to just calculate your answers.
IXL
Please complete strand I.10 on Year 3 IXL. It is some practice on those 3 digit plus 3 digit additions in the form of word problems.
English
Today we are going to read the next part of chapter 4 of the Iron Man. Make sure that you read the text carefully with me and then complete the different activities. Remember to make sure that you work neatly and carefully and you think about your spelling and punctuation too please.
Science
In science today we are going to be looking at the different food groups and how much we need of each of these to keep us fit and healthy. We need a balanced diet - a mixture of each of them and not too much of some of the groups. I have included a powerpoint and a pdf of the lesson on the buttons below. Choose which one you want to follow and then complete the 2Do which I have set on Purple Mash. (Don’t forget to save your work and hand it in.)
