We made it! Another term, done and dusted, our reward, a week of Easter celebrations with our loved ones. It has been a strange term, as usually we have all the wonderful class assemblies that take us through the Easter story and a huge Easter egg raffle to end the term, we have been so good, in our class bubbles and had our own celebrations, but hopefully next year we can come back together as a whole school family.
In Art…
Year one had a lovely paint mixing lesson as we made one of the primary colours lighter with white paint, the room was awash with sighs of wonder as they saw the colours change.
Year two started a two part art piece, based on the style of Cornish artist Anthony Frost, we used different papers and materials to create a textured base, we then painted it white, ready for painting with colour after the holidays.
Year three used their colour mixing skills to create some stunning painting work in the style of artist Sean Scully, Our brush work and neatness is coming along nicely.
Year four used the dyed fabric from our last session and drew on it with marker pens, we drew a natural item such as a feather, leaf or fruit and filled it with beautiful patterns. These are on display outside the Create room and are attracting a lot of attention.
Year five painted pictures of chairs in the style of Matisse and Derain. Colour blending and precise neat edges.
Please have a look at a sample of the wonderful art produced this week.
Please note that all children will need their art shirts for next term also.
Have a wonderful Easter break, I am hoping for some decent weather, fingers crossed.
Stay safe
God bless
