Children came back to school on Monday so full of enthusiasm and have had a super first week back. We enjoyed learning about the true meaning of ‘All Hallows’ Eve on Monday - the eve of All Saints’ day. We then went to church on Tuesday to celebrate this feast. It was lovely to hear the children sing with such vigour and join in so well.
In our geography topic this week, we have learned all about deforestation and how it can harm our planet. Children were so passionate about this subject and they made posters in class all about it. Isaac told us that on the ‘Ecosia’ website, they will replant a tree every time you enter a question in the search bar. They are on over 161 million. We looked at other ways humans can help.
Our virtues this half term are ‘Intentional and Prophetic.’ We will learn about this further next week but children have certainly been intentional this week in doing their very best! Their effort has been astounding. Today, all teachers came into Year 4 to watch our maths mastery lesson. We are really understanding and manipulating our 4 digit numbers in depth and children are getting so good at explaining their reasoning.

Notices
On Friday 11th November, we will be visited in school by Stuart Robinson. Stuart is a gold medal winning Paralympian, who represented GB in the recent Olympic games in wheel-chair rugby.
Stuart’s visit is part of an event for Sports for Schools. This is an opportunity for the children to take part in a sporting event organised by Stuart, and to then hear about his story as part of an assembly. He will be with us all afternoon. This event is also an opportunity to raise money for our school - for PE, Sport and Active Learning.
The children have all brought a sponsor form home for them to collect as many sponsors as they can before the event next Friday.
Have a lovely weekend all of you,
Mrs Lyons, Miss Hennessy and Mrs Mather.
