Extremely important home learning for this week!
Dear parents every year the Lancashire Fire Service visit the children in Years 2 and Year 6. During this hour session the firefighters explain a wide variety of fire safety messages.
This year the firefighters came to our class last Friday. The children were wonderful and listened intently and politely as the firefighters explained and shared videos and stories. We had hoped Henry Slingers daddy might come - but instead we had fireman Sam!
At the end of the session the Firefighters asked us to do the following:
Ask an adult to check the smoke alarms in the house - watch them
To check smoke alarms in our relatives houses.
To read the literature sent home ( as seen in the picture below) every child received this pack
To make a fire plan together - what would your family do if there was a fire.
PLEASE COMPLETE THESE STEPS WITH YOUR CHILD IT MAY BE THE MOST WORTHWHILE LEARNING YOU COMPLETE THIS YEAR!
READING
Please continue to listen to, read to and shar books at this time. I’m sure your reading festive stories - enjoy. Please encourage your child to read in everyday situations too. I bet that naughty elves has left some fun messages to read!!
