Welcome back!
What a lovely first day we had in class - we shared all our Christmas news and there was much excitement about all the wonderful surprises the the children received! There were two rabbits and one puppy!!!
READING
Daily reading routines for every young child is the greatest gift. Please make this home learning your priority. We read in every subject and the children are becoming more and more confident and independent - please read to them (tricker books) and listen to them- their school book- ready for quizzing.
MATHS
Some quick mental maths this week - how quickly can you complete A9, C7 and E2 on your IXL. Get focused and complete 5 minutes on each. Quick and focused at three different times.

GEOGRAPHY - CURIOUS ABOUT COUNTRIES!!!
In geography this half term we are exploring maps. There are lots of spatial awareness tasks in the lessons and of course some map reading!! Alongside this we are studying one country from each of the continents for our home learning. We are calling this learning:
CURIOUS ABOUT COUNTRIES!!!
Each week we will be sharing what we have found out.
I wanted the children to be excited and curious about the country they research so I haven’t given then a specific country. This week we are selecting a country from EUROPE!!! If you want me to choose please study- France - but please be curious and choose a country of your own if you want.
Please do one of the following:
Make a poster all about your country
Write a factfile in your homework book all about your country
Make a presentation (PP) on the computer - if someone can help and send it to Mrs Hotchkiss.
Focus on language, food, money, population, weather and famous human and physical features
