Magic moments
RE
For RE this week we joined our partner class Year Five, on a visit to Church for an advent mass. We joined Father Peter and Deacon John in prayer in preparation for the upcoming celebratory events.
We also put together a prayer station outside our classroom as a part of our schools advent pilgrimage, our station is all about the Angel Gabriel. We are looking forward to taking part on the pilgrimage round school next week with Year Five.
English
We started writing our story maps this week. The children have used the story maps we created last week to follow the story along and write a couple of sentences about each part. This task is all about independence, can you remember all the things we need to correctly write a sentence, can you remember the different parts of our story? Our stories have started off brilliantly!
Maths
The children started a new topic in maths this week, we have begun counting up in 10’s and learning all about our decade numbers. We have discussed that these numbers are no longer teen numbers so instead it is “ty” at the end, this is something we needed a lot of practise with to ensure we are saying the number correctly. But so far the children have done a brilliant job at remembering the correct order.
PE
The children has a brilliant (but wet) PE lesson with Mr Nay this week, they have been showing off all of their kicking skills by completing circuits and finishing their lesson by shooting some goals!
Lets celebrate!
Well done to our certificate winners this week, we have had a determined learner in Nellie and a creative learner in Mary. You have both worked brilliantly this week and we are very proud of you, keep it up.
Our Virtue Star this week goes to…. Jaxon! You have been so intentional all week, super focused and ready to learn! You are always making the right choices, Well done!
Our lunchtime winners this week are Antonio and Amara. Our role model was Amara and Antonio had excellent manners. Well done you two!
Finally, a big happy birthday to Antonio! We loved celebrating with you on Wednesday and hope you continue your celebrations this weekend!
We have had a lovely week of decorating our classroom ready for Christmas! The children started by colouring in some baubles and Christmas themed pictures and sticking these up around the room, we then took it in turns decorating our class Christmas tree. It is looking lovely and festive!
Each day a different child gets our advent chocolate and they get a picture in our Christmas hat!
Important information and reminders.
Next week is Nativity week! Woohoo! We cannot wait to show you what we have put together and we hope you love it all much as we have loved creating it.
Please send in outfits on Monday, this is the day of our dress rehearsal and we will need to keep them in school until our final show on Thursday. Please send in ballerina costumes and for everyone else please can you send your child in with a white vest and some white leggings/shorts to go underneath their costumes.
As a school we are trying to be more eco friendly to care for our common home. We ask that this year instead of doing whole class individual cards that your child instead makes one card for the whole class that can then be displayed in our worship area for everyone to see.
A reminder that next Thursday (12th) it is KS1’s film night, tickets are £3 for those who haven’t yet bought one and the children will stay at school until 5:15pm.
Christmas bake off and jumper day is on Friday 13th, don’t forget to bring your baked goods and money to take part in the competition!
I hope you have an enjoyable and restful weekend and look forward to seeing you on Monday morning.
