Magic moments
RE
What a week it has been. This week was holy week and the children were welcomed into school each day by a performance from the older children of the events leading up to and after Jesus’ crucifixion. We have had brilliant discussions after each assembly about what the children saw and how it made them feel. They were blown away by the fantastic performances.
This week we also welcomed the very special statue of Our Lady of Lourdes, we are looking forward to visiting the statue and praying with her after our half term break.
English and Maths
The children have done some fantastic writing this week for English. Every child re wrote the story of Peter Rabbit the Radish Robber, using connecting words and lots of different punctuation. We were so proud of the work they produced!
The children have blown me away with their mathematic skills this week! We have covered so much! We have been doing lots of part whole work, we have been using number lines, we wrote missing numbers on number lines. We then looked at odd and even numbers and began skip counting. I have been so impressed this week.
Our end of term tea party and Easter egg hunt!
Going deeper…
As a part of our Lenten journey, Father Peter asked us to do some important things this week:
Pray
Share
Please keep doing these things over half term, we collected lots of money from our Lenten boxes as a team as a part of our almsgiving. Thank you.
This is a time to be together, enjoy your families and spend some quality time together.
Conversation starter: How can you make someone’s day today? How can you make them happy?
Lets celebrate!
For our last week of term the whole of Year One have voted for their two best learners and children who are consistently showing off our school virtues.
I am very proud to say well done to Theo for being our super learner in Spring!
I am very proud to say well done to Poppy for showing our school virtues all through Spring!
Thank you to you both for being super role models for our class.
