Year 2 Home Learning to be handed in Monday 3rd

Welcome back everyone!

IMPORTANT JOB THIS WEEK- LENTEN BOX

Each year the children make a Lenten box. This is a box they have created for their Year 4 class partner. During Lent we collect money in the box ready to give to charity. We encourage the children to do special things for donations to their box. Because the box is a gift to another child, we ask the children to be creative and thoughtful - linking their decoration to Lent/Easter/Spring. I’ll be making one for Mrs Lyons!

Great time to upcycle a container!!! Leave or create a slit for money!

There is a new set of optional home learning tasks for you this week! Enjoy these when you have time. We love celebrating this work back in class.

READING

The children all have new ZPD’s - we will also be visiting the library (which looks amazing) soon - we’ll be able to borrow a book form here too!!! Keep listening to your child and read to them too.

MATHS

This week I’ll be sending home the games played at our workshop on Wednesday! The children will have a pack to take home - please keep these resources safe as you will use them with other games in the coming weeks. We will alternate between games and video showing what we are currently learning

I’m aware that many children have great nu,mber sense in class and are fact fluent. For these children keep working through your NUMBOTS.

SPELLING AND HANDWRITING

Listen carefully to these dictated sentences. Draft the sentence first then check the spelling rules. Listen to the verbs which end in ing and ed. Do you double the consonant or not?

Can you explain the rule to your parent?

Have fun making your box!
