We have continued to work hard on our Easter assembly. We are excited about welcoming you to watch on Monday morning. I’m a little nervous as we will have had the weekend and we won’t be able to practice before we perform - plus we only get to do this special assembly once! We’ll do our best! Thursday’s practice went really well as almost everyone knew their lines! On Friday, we used costumes and props - there was so much to remember but we were real Roger Robins. I was away this week - so I missed the lovely children’s worship. However, on Thursday during the teacher’s worship, the children had the opportunity to reflect on something they would like to start again and their reflections were so thoughtful. Have you every done something and wished you could start again? New starts are a gift.
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
We were thinking like a scientist this week. We’ve been investigating properties of materials. This week we investigated three different pieces of paper to see how ABSORBENT they were. Can you set up the same experiment at home. Can you test three different materials (or more). Which is the most absorbent? Remember place water on the material a teaspoon at a time if it is going through it has stopped absorbing. If is runs off it isn’t absorbent! Keep a tally!
MAGIC MOMENTS OF LEARNING
Miss Bassett has been in class this week and she has focused on money and history! She’s had a lovely time. The money lessons fitted in beautifully with my lessons on multiplication and we used skip counting to find the product. The children have been history detectives exploring documents and images from 100 years ago - great work. As stated above we’ve been scientists and of course artists with Mrs Mather. A highlight of the week was our enrichment lesson. During this session on Monday we were taught by Mr Cornwell in the Year 5 classroom (we felt all grown up!).
