' I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’
We had a beautiful start to our morning, we came in calm, ready to watch Year 2 Palm Sunday assembly. We have started to reflect on Holy Week and create our own Holy Week story book we will continue this after each assembly to help us retell the story. We visited the chapel to continue our prayer and litergy.
Year 2 have chicks! We were very lucky that we had the opportunity to visit them, we are excited to pop in and visit them again next week and see how much they have grown.
Computing: we had to roll a dice 20 times and write down what number it landed on each time, then we inputted the answers into 2count on Purple Mash creating our own pictogram and compared our results. We are getting very speedy at logging on and off Purple Mash most of the class can now do it independently!
Maths: we used the rekenreks to create our own number stories, first there were 5 birds then 2 birds joined them now there are … and first there were 8 birds then 2 birds flew away now there are …. Can you make up your own number stories?
PE: we enjoyed another cricket lesson, we continued to practise hitting the ball with the bats and we introduced two new challenges. Throwing the ball at the wickets and catching a ball that Mr Nay hit with a cricket bat.
History: We found out how Learie Constantine and his family adjusted to life in Lancashire at first some people were not very kind to him because of the colour of his skin. He didn’t let that stop him, he kept playing and he was such a good cricket player that eventually people travelled from all over the country to see him play.
We loved our music lesson with Miss Woodend on Wednesday while I had my last parent meetings. These have been a wonderful opportunity to share your child successes, I have enjoyed speaking to you and sharing the amazing learning and progress that has been made so far. We are all very proud of how much the children have achieved and it has been lovely to hear that you have seen it at home. We are excited to see it continue for the rest of this year.

Upcoming dates and Reminders:
We break up on Thursday 28th March at 2pm
Polite reminder that all children across school should bring water in their bottles and not juice. This is something that we discuss regularly in school as part of our discussions about healthy snacks and healthy lunches. Please can you bring in healthy snacks please refer to the poster for suitable snack, we always have fruit avalible too.
Please can you bring/keep spare uniform in bags, as the weather has been wet recently, children have fallen over in puddles and it can sometimes be tricky finding spare uniform for them in the right size.
