Reception Weekly Blog 11.4.25 Happy Easter

Another term completed, we have started each morning with our prayer and liturgy Easter assemblies it’s been a lovely way to start each day and the children have been still, the children have enjoyed watching each class retell the story. We have enjoyed discussing each assembly each day and on Wednesday Nursery and Reception learnt about why we have hot cross buns and we tasted them, we had orginal, banoffee and rhubarb and custard flavour. Rachel came back on Monday to talk about the Jewish celebration passover.

What experiences are you grateful for in the last week?

Forest School:

Just a reminder On 23rd and 24th April Reception will NOT have any sessions due to parents forest school sessions.

Stay and Play: Thank you for those who came on Monday, the children loved showing you around the classroom and were proud that their could share their Maths lesson with you. The children have worked so hard and it’s lovely to see how much progress they have made so far.

I have made new QR codes and highlighted the sounds that your child is working on, please watch them when you can to help them continue to make progress.

Let’s Celebrate:

Well done to our certificate awardee voted by Reception, they have noticed how hard you work in school and so have we.

Whole School Virtues - Grateful and Generous:

Henry the Dog: Henry is going home with this person for being a reflective Lizzie Ladybird, we have seen a difference in the last few weeks your are staying focused on the carpet and working hard, well done.

Important Information and Upcoming Events

On 23rd and 24th April Reception will NOT have any sessions due to parents forest school sessions.

Show and Tell:

Now that we have all developed our confidence this year, for the Summer term, please can we stop bringing in toys for show and tell. We want to use this time to celebrate our achievements. I have spoken to all the children about this and they understand.

So we use show and tell as an opportunity to share things that they are proud of, or to share something that is important to them. Great show and tell examples are: sharing photos, bringing in certificates or medals, a souvenir from a trip out or something that they have made at home.

Important Reminders:

Please can you bring in sun hats and sun cream, a roll on ideally so the children can start to apply it themselves. Please put sun cream on your child in the morning before they come to school. We will keep these in school (unless you request that you want it back) so we can apply it before lunch. A polite reminder sunglasses are not allowed to be worn in school.

  • Polite reminder that we are a Nut free school. Please can you bring in healthy snacks please refer to the poster for suitable snacks, we always have fruit avalible too.

  • PE
Our PE days are Tuesday (outside) and Friday (inside). On these days, children can come to school in their PE uniform and will remain in this for the day. We kindly ask that velcro trainers (white, black or navy) are worn as this allows the children to be indepoendent when taking their shoes off and putting them back on. Polite reminder that for health and safety reasons, no jewellery is to be worn on PE days. We kindly ask that this is removed at home before coming into school.

  • Art T-shirt
Please can you bring in an art T-shirt, if you haven’t already, these help us keep uniforms as clean as possible.

  • Jumpers: please can you check that your child has brought the right jumper or PE jacket home, they can easily get mixed up when bags are being packed, there are a few missing in class, thank you.
