‘As we rejoice and celebrate this wonderful season of Christmas, let us not forget to thank baby Jesus for coming into our lives.’
It has been a week of Christmas Joy. Thank you for the lovely cards and present we appreciate them. The children have worked so hard this half term enjoy your break. I would love to see photos of your Christmas celebrations :).
We have enjoyed our different Christmas activities this week.
We loved making our Gingerbread men and decorating them. I hope you enjoyed eating them too.
On Tuesday the other half of the children went on their Advent Pilgrimage with their Year 6 buddies. We finished in the Chapel where I read the Nativity story.
We still managed to continue our 2D shapes topic, the children made their own pictures using the 2D shapes. They have taken some brilliant photos too!
We had a great Christmas Party on Thursday and enjoyed our Christmas dinner.
I will always try my best to ensure there are opportunities for you to come into school on days you are free. If you haven’t please could you fill in the form below. If you have any questions please email me.
Let’s Celebrate:
This week the class voted for our certificate winners, they had so many kind things to say such as they are helpful, sit smartly on the carpet amd are kind friends. Well done.
Lunchtime awards:
Our lunch time certificates are awarded by the lunch time team to those children who they see being wonderful role models and using marvelous manors:
Well done to our Role Model Hugo and Willow for her Marvellous Manners.
Thank you both for being such wonderful role models and for remembering those acts of kindness everyday!
Henry the Dog: Henry is going home with this person for always being kind to everyone, you come in with a huge smile on your face.
Show and Tell:
Please look below to see which day your child can share their show and tell news. We love to celebrate each child’s achievements in class. So we use show and tell as an opportunity to share things that they are proud of, or to share something that is important to them. Great show and tell examples are: sharing photos, bringing in certificates or medals, a souvenir from a trip out or something that they have made at home.
Important Reminders:
After Christmas, Reception will be taking part in Forest School sessions with Miss Lavelle.
The sessions will begin with a chance to connect with nature, explore our Forest School environment, including exciting opportunities like den building and bug hunting. Our sessions will finish with a snack and story around the fire.
The children will be in groups of 10, please see the table below for dates your child will be taking part.
On these days your child will need to come to school wearing their Forest School clothes as sessions begin at 9. Old clothes you don't mind getting dirty are great.
T-shirt, jumper/hoody, leggings/joggers with waterproof trousers and outdoor coat or all in one with wellies. Please ensure everything is labelled.
The children will need to bring their uniform in a separate bag to change into after their sessions.
Our PE days are now on a Tuesday and Friday as our forest school sessions are on Wednesday and Thursday Morning.
Polite reminder that we are a Nut free school. Please can you bring in healthy snacks please refer to the poster for suitable snacks, we always have fruit avalible too.
PE
Our PE days are Tuesday (outside) and Friday (inside). On these days, children can come to school in their PE uniform and will remain in this for the day. We kindly ask that velcro trainers (white, black or navy) are worn as this allows the children to be indepoendent when taking their shoes off and putting them back on. Polite reminder that for health and safety reasons, no jewellery is to be worn on PE days. We kindly ask that this is removed at home before coming into school.Art T-shirt
Please can you bring in an art T-shirt, if you haven’t already, these help us keep uniforms as clean as possible.Jumpers: please can you check that your child has brought the right jumper or PE jacket home, they can easily get mixed up when bags are being packed, there are a few missing in class, thank you.
