Another busy, purposeful week full of opportunities and exciting learning in Year 4 this week! In RE lessons, children have been thinking about belonging to a parish family and what this means. On Thursday, we visited St Bedes - our wider school family and children mingled with many others from different schools. It was a day of reflection and prayer where children worshipped together.
On Monday this week, children had their enrichment activities - this time it was Science with Miss Drummond - thinking about different rock types with sweets! How exciting! Then on Wednesday morning children went to meet their new teacher Mr Cornwell, who was very impressed with them.
The highlight of our week though, was all thanks to our 6 lovely parents who came in to talk about their occupations. Children were absolutely fascinated and learned so much about the world of work. Parents made it so exciting with different tasks, hats to wear and equipment they use from their job. A massive thank you for giving children this learning opportunity and giving up your time and energy.
This week, we have also been revising some of our maths, specifically multiplying larger numbers and finding non-unit fractions of amounts. In English, we have continued with our study of Viking myths and we are also reading quite a scary class novel, ‘The Snow-Walker’s Son.’
In other news, we have learned about shadows in our Science lessons and what forms them. We have had a super PE lesson, learning batting and fielding skills for rounders.
