This week has flown by, it’s hard to believe we have fit so much learning in!
Our cameras worked and over the weekend caught Mr Bear in our classroom. We couldn’t believe it! Hopefully you enjoy our video of Mr Bear and our innovated story. We’re so glad he found ‘peace at last’ in Reception!
We had great fun making character puppets and making up our own story about Mr Bear coming to our houses.
In RE this week we have been listening and retelling the story of the Nativity. We are grateful to God for sending us His greatest gift…Jesus! On Monday we will make Advent promises to help us to prepare for Jesus.
We have enjoyed dressing up as Mary, Joseph, angels and shepherds, making puppets and creating stables using Lego and other small world objects.
In Maths we have been using our fingers to represent different numbers. We did a challenge of showing 4 and 5 using two hands to represent two parts of a whole. We are SUBITISING SUPERHEROES! This week we also helped Danny the Dinosaur and Penny the Parrot who had more objects, they just couldn’t agree! We used our mathematician brains to help them solve the problem.
In Read Write Inc this week we have learnt three new sounds and had more fun segmenting and blending words orally.
For ‘lllll’ we go ‘down the long leg’.
For ‘h..h..h’ we go ‘down the head to the hooves and over his back’.
For ‘ssshhh’ we remind ourselves to write s then h by saying ‘ssshhh said the horse to the hissing snake.’
We have added these sounds to the flashcard sets.
Let’s Celebrate
Eliza is a Brave Tommy Turtle - For showing confidence to talk to adults and share you ideas on the carpet. We are so impressed you are having a go, without worrying about making a mistake and having lots of fun in the process. Well done Eliza!
Jude is a Co-operative Roger Robin - For being a great team player in our class and caring for others, our resources and our classroom. You have shown kindness towards others and always set a great example to the rest of the class. Well done Jude!
