The weeks are slipping by and Christmas is fast approaching… School is in full swing, a hive of activity.
In Art,,,
Reception got messy as they made special gifts for home (but enough of that until later in the term) We painted our hands two different primary colours and had to see if we knew what secondary colour they would make? We then rubbed out hands together to reveal the answer. This was super fun and it tickled our hands, so we printed our hand prints onto a large roll of paper to create a whole class piece of art.
Year one made three blocks for their collograph printing, using three card squares we glued one with string, one with foam pieces and one with matchsticks. Next week we will paint the blocks and discover what patterns we have created.
Year two continued their design technology, wheels and axles. We caught up on our sketch book work, adding photos of our prototype and drawing the design for our actual working vehicle with a Christmas theme.
Year three made their Christmas cards in the style of Victor Vasarely in collage. These will be packed away ready for the end of term.
Year four went on a fabulous cosmetic chemistry school trip, so art this week.
Year five sarted their reduction block prints, concentrating on the yellow, first layer. Next week is the red, second layer.
Year six completed their fabric drawings inspired by architect Norman Foster. These look amazing and are already on display outside the staff room, gaining much attention.
KS1 Art club made their own hand in clay, this will be painting next week and KS2 made a monster pot in clay, these will also be painted next week.
Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to come and visit me, Miss Woodrow and the Art Monitors in the Create room on Thursday evening between 6-8pm, for our annual Curriculum Evening. We want you to think about your gifts from God. I look forward to seeing you then.
God bless.
