What we learn with pleasure we never forget. Alfred Mercier.

It’s a mystery!

One lunch time this week a visitor must have crept into our classroom without being spotted and left us a letter and a Roman helmet, the letter has helped us learn about how the Romans returned home from Britain and how the Saxons invaded our shores. It was very interesting to hear all of the children’s ‘I wonder’ questions and we have started to find out more about the Saxons as part of our History. After realising it wasn’t Mrs Lyons (nice idea Emmanuel) who had planted it here the mystery is yet to be solved! Photos are now added, please see below.

Let’s celebrate

Swimming stars—Jessica again :) , Elise and James.

Yoga stars—Mark and Georgia

French Stars—Lorna-Jane and Elise.

After a lovely week it is always nice to sit and reflect on the children who have shown so many positive attributes, this week our certificates were awarded to two Tommy Turtle brave learners. They were Harvey and Megan.

Harvey has shown an eagerness to try lots of new learning and has been contributing to lessons lots with great results. He made me laugh with his simile to describe a busy classroom of children. He wrote ‘The children in the classroom were as busy as The Pound Bakery.’ It sounds like my kind of place Harvey! It is so lovely to see Harvey having a go at so many things with such enthusiasm.

Megan has impressed me with her have a go attitude to maths this week, she has been able to independently have a go at some tricky questions with a clever insight into number. She also made the Year 4 teachers smile with this simile ‘My teacher is as clever as a professor.’ Flattery gets you far in life Megan!

Things to remember

Each week there are quite a few children forgetting their flutes, children please take responsibility for remembering it every Monday morning.

If you want to collect learning points for homework I need to see your book, I only had 9 handed in this week. Well done and thank you to those children and their parents/carers.
