Grown ups, read along with your child with the sound on, or mute the sound and read the story out loud to your child. https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/storybooks-and-games/hairy-maclary/ Encourage your child to join in with the repetitive phrases in the story. Look at the word used to describe the other dogs who go on the walk with him e.g. Hercules Morse. Can you remember what we call a word that describes a noun? Talk about the words used to describe him, e.g. big as a horse.
Ask your child to choose two or three of their favourite dogs from the book and complete the following sentences explaining why. Encourage them to use the words from the text.

They are …and….
Check for capital letters for names and at the start of the sentence, as well as full stops at the end.

Maths
Grown ups please go to the following website: https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/ . Today I would like you to do Lesson 4 Step 3, Add equal groups, with your child. There is a short video for you to watch and discuss together. Please pause the video and give your child time to explain their reasoning to you. Following on from this, there is some questions for your child to answer. You have also got some challenges on SumDog to keep you busy!
