Phonics

Today I would like you to watch the set 2 and set 3 speed sounds, by clicking on the link.

English

Talk to your child about where their dogs might go, e.g. to the park, shops, woods etc. Read the section of the story where they meet Scarface Claw. https://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/storybooks-and-games/hairy-maclary/ Talk about Hairy Maclary and his friends running home to bed. Ask – what might your dog do? Provide choices, such as run home, hide behind a tree, bark at her.

Say - I think that they might … because...

Write a short story following the structure below, including the new dogs and the ending chosen earlier:

Hairy Maclary went out of the gate with …

First they went to ….and…..

Next they trotted … and…

Then they saw Scarface Claw but …

Finally they ...

Check for capital letters for names and at the start of the sentence, as well as full stops or exclamation marks at the end.

Today I would like you to do Summer Week 1 - Lesson 1 Make Doubles, with your child.  There is a short video for you to watch and discuss together. Please pause the video and give your child time to explain their reasoning to you. Following on from this, there is some questions for your child to answer.
