Welcome back to home learning, we hope you have enjoyed a lovely Easter break with your families. We have all had a great time with ours and some delicious chocolate treats too, we hope you are now keen to crack on with lots of fun learning again. We can’t wait to see those smiling faces in all the gorgeous photos your fantastic grown ups send us.
Now let’s get busy!
Maths
This week we are going to start our new topic of multiplication and division, you need to open the PDF by clicking on the button below. You do not need to print it out, just have it open to work from and talk through with your child. Ask your child to record their answers and working out in their home learning maths book. We will put the answers on for you to look through and mark with your child the following day.
Yoga and Art
Today we would like you to try some yoga, you can use some of the stretches and positions Mrs Ward has taught us or perhaps try this website.
https://www.cosmickids.com/category/watch/
As part of Mrs Ward’s sessions she asks us to describe the flowers in our yoga gardens, the children’s descriptions are always very detailed and descriptive. We would like you to draw, paint or make your yoga flower—think about the shape, size and colours. Could you give it a name and describe its smell? Send us a photo of your yoga and your flower art work if you can.
English
Sometimes we write about things that have happened. We write this in the past tense. If something started in the past and is still continuing to happen now, we need to use the present perfect tense.
Watch the powerpoint below to learn about how we write in the present perfect tense and have a go at creating your own present perfect tense verbs..
(Remember to start the powerpoint slide show from the beginning)
Some pages you will just need to do in your head or talk about but we would like you to write the following tasks in your book. (Remember to work neatly and to put the date and the title - Present Perfect Tense. Don’t forget to underline them). Do each task as you come to it on the powerpoint.
Task 1
Write the past tense verbs in a table (like the one shown on page 7) and have a go at writing the present perfect tense verbs. Check the answers once you have completed your list.
Task 2
Use the spinner (page 9) and add to your table of past tense and present perfect tense verbs,
Task 3
Read “A Tense Match” (page 12) carefully and rewrite it changing the recount into the present perfect tense, as if the match is still happening. Remember to read your passage carefully once you have written it to make sure that you have changed all of the verbs.
