As we settle into home learning, we realise what we miss the most, I miss the ‘hello’s’ and the stories, the hugs and the happy faces of successful learning from our children. I miss all the staff at Our Lady’s, the support and kindness. But I also have found it in other ways, the internet is the most wonderful invention, we keep in contact with loved ones. I have daily facetime with my Mum, who lives around 300 miles away. I have lovely emails with your art and chat. We have our whole school community in prayer each night. It is often in the darkest skies, we find the brightest stars…
In Art…
Reception were asked to find as many things as they could that were RED, we had drawings, paintings and collages, They were truly beautiful.
Year One were asked to create some art with food in mind, favourite foods or what they were having for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Year two followed instructions on how to draw a castle, they were then challenged to make the castle their own design, fairy, rainbow, army etc.
Year three created an emotion wheel, using colour, shape and expression. These were fabulous and insightful.
Year four were challenged with creating a cartoon of their family members and themselves, concentrating on the eyes. Having been given a selection of eyes to try. These were very funny and good fun.
Year five were asked to bake or draw food inspired by Evelin’s love of cooking with her family. We could either draw or paint food or get baking or help cooking at home. Mrs Kennedy also was inspired and made red pepper soup. My youngest son Thomas did baking with me, when we made lemon drizzle cake and tiffin, very delicious.
Year six had an unusual task this week , to create a coffee painting, this is rather tricky and a bit smelly, but good fun, my dog Marvin even had a sneaky lick while I was painting mine.
Family activity in Art Club page was a big success as I challenged everyone to make a bird. Do take a look.
There will be no art activities next week as we move into our Easter break, but I will have new ones waiting for you the following week.
Happy Easter to you all, stay safe in these uncertain times,
God bless
Mrs Curtis
