Good morning Reception . It a marvellous Monday again today. Try to be marvellous in everything that you do!
It’s so lovely to be with you all again for our final week in school. I can hardly believe that you have come to the end of your Reception year and are ready for Year 1 - time seems to have flown by! But then again, I know that you have worked really hard this year and even though things have been very strange for us all, you have been great learners and wanted to keep growing your brains. Well done!
I might not have been looking after your learning for very long but I do know that I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you and watching you learn new things and I also know that Miss Bassett is so proud of you all and how much you have learned.
I hope that you enjoyed last week, getting to know your new teacher Miss Lane. I know that she really enjoyed hearing from you and finding out all about you all. She is so excited to be teaching you all in September.
We have just 4 days of class learning this week and then on Friday we have our final day of the year working together as a whole school to say “good-bye” before we start our summer holidays.
Today’s Learning Activities:
English - Traditional Tales
Watch and enjoy The Gingerbread Man, read by Julie Walters:
Discuss the story with your grown up. Can you answer these questions?
Who baked the gingerbread man? What did the gingerbread man shout each time he escaped from someone? How did the sly old fox trick the gingerbread man?
Can you write a list of all the people and animals that the gingerbread man escaped from? (Remember to sound out each word carefully)
Can you draw pictures of them in the order that they appear in the story?
White Rose Maths
Lesson 1 Week 10 w/c 29th June
This week we are going to look at the story of Oliver’s Vegetables. I know quite a few of you have been busy growing vegetables at home during lockdown and I’ve been looking at all of the photos that you have in, you are looking after them really carefully and will soon be eating lots of delicious things that you have grown. Have a look what Oliver has been up to and see if you can help him with his maths work. Maybe you could use the border that you create in the next activity.
Memories
Have a think about all of the things that you have done during your time in Reception. Talk to your grown up about what you have done. What did you enjoy doing the most?
I would like you to draw a picture and write a sentence or two about your favourite memory of being in Reception Class. (Remember to sound out carefully when you are writing.)
PE
Remember it’s really important to keep active. Think about what you can do today to keep active. Maybe you want to have a go at something you are good at because you enjoy doing it. Or maybe you know there is something that you would like to get better at and need a bit of practise with. Maybe you would like to have a go at more than one thing! You choose!
I hope that you have a lovely day.
Don’t forget to send me some photos of what you have been doing.
