Art News… Lockdown… Week Three
We are now into our new way of learning life, at home or in school, we are all taking it in our stride, one day at a time.
In Art…
Reception remote learners have created a lovely plate of their favourite foods, it can be drawn, painted or collaged and these look so good, they made me very hungry.
Year one remote learners created a self portrait, trying really hard to get their features and colours correct. School learners used clay to recreate two characters from the story of Wilfred and Nancy.
Year two remote learners created a lovely snow globe, filling it with whatever they wanted, these were then coloured or painted to look super special. School learners made their Relief Blocks ready for using next week. We made three blocks, one with rubber bands on, one with match sticks and one with press print foam pieces.
Year three remote learners were challenged to find four different animal skins/furs and draw them, taking note of pattern and colours. School learners had the same challenge this week.
Year four remote learners had to find a bit from a magazine, newspaper or photograph they liked, cut it out and stick it to a new paper. They then had to redraw the rest of the picture, changing it from the original. School learners had part two of the slipper art, we added a decorative sole, made the toe covering and thought about what decoration we would add for next week.
Year five remote learners had to take their own initial/s and turn them into something else like B for bird and change the B into a bird. These were such fun and there were some really clever pieces. School learners added the muscle to their Alberto Giacometti style statues and placed the feet into a clay base. These will have the Mod-Roc skin added next week.
Year six remote learners were asked to find their chosen Rainforest animal and either draw or paint it’s face, looking carefully for tone and texture. School learners Made the base of their Rainforest mask out of a balloon and Brown Gummed Paper. This was very tricky as the balloons can pop at any time and then we would have to start over. These will be cut in half when dry, ready for the modifications next week.
Hopefully the rain will let up over the weekend, I know I could do with walking my dog without getting soaked! Have a restful weekend.
Stay safe
God bless
