We are so proud of all of the work that is going on in class and at home. We recognise that it is not easy and that the children are missing each other, but like true Sadie Spiders the children keep on trying and trying and trying and they are doing some great work. Well done children and thank you parents for all the support that you are giving whilst trying to do everything else as well.
Sadly, we have had to close our class bubble, as we have had a confirmed case of Covid-19 within the children who are coming into school. Hopefully everyone will be okay and we are sure that you will join us all in hoping that everyone is safe and keeping everyone in our prayers.
Our novel the Iron Man is really beginning to get very exciting and the children have had some very creative ideas about what might happen. I am loving reading what they have written. We continue to be really impressed with the children’s ability to add and subtract involving exchanges. We are coming to the end of this topic and next week we will be starting our topic of multiplication and division. Geography is proving to be very exciting, looking at maps and learning all about the local area. In RE the children have continued to think about the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Purple Mash is working well and the children are really engaging. Well done children. (Just one little blip—we need to add a 2Do for you to put photos on —we have realised that we have missed some of the work that children have sent to us because it is going into the children’s files and not into our alerts. Whoops—sorry. Our fault not yours. 2dos will be set when needed to return your work to us, so keep your eyes peeled for 2dos. If your child is at school on that date they will have completed it in class.
Please continue to send photos via email if you wish for them to go on the class blog page. Thank you.
Let’s Celebrate:
This week the children both at home and in school have continued to work really hard and to make us so proud with their creativity and focus. We are so proud of all the super learning that is taking place at home and how children are really engaging with the videos, lessons and Purple Mash. Well done everyone. Keep up the good work children and thank you for everything that you have sent to us. Well done parents for all of your support and hard work too.
This week, we are delighted to present Ruby-Lilly, Evan and Owen with their certificates.
Ruby-Lilly receives a Lizzie Ladybird certificate for her continued effort to improve and get better in all of her lessons. Ruby-Lilly you are a pleasure to teach and you are always so enthusiastic too. Keep up the good work.
Evan and Owen, you both receive Co-operative Roger Robins/Creative Kiki Chameleon certificates. You have both continued to engage fully in the work and have had brilliant ideas about what you think might happen in the Iron Man story. You have completed some super work. Great punctuation too, well done!
Well done also to Leo who is the first to have reached 100% of his reading target this term. Well done Leo. That’s wonderful. Make sure that you put your bird up on the rainbow when we get back into class. Well done everyone. You have really tried to get on with your reading this week and to take quizzes. We have a few people now in the 60% zone and others in the 40% zone. Remember to take a quiz if you have not done this yet please.
Take a look below at the photos from this week. Sorry there aren’t as many as there should be - I have struggled to open the ones that we took in school as we are now working at home. Hopefully, I will be able to rectify this when I get back to school.
Another thing to celebrate
As a class we have achieved great things on IXL, please open the PDF below to see our certificate. Great work Year 3!
Things to Note:
Please make sure that your child has layers on at school during this cold weather. We need to have doors and windows open for ventilation, so the classroom is really cold at times. Thank you.
Don’t forget that if your child is learning at home, they can take reading quizzes from home again (Go to the orange “How to Help your Child” on the class page and scroll down to find the Accelerated Reader button—click on this, log on and take a quiz as you would in school).
Please check your emails about the Zoom meeting that we are organising for the children to get together as a whole class. It will be on Wednesday 26th January at 9:15am. (for about 20mins) You will need to read and agree to the Zoom meeting guidance which I have attached below. By accepting the invitation to join the meeting you are agreeing to accept the guidance. During the Zoom meeting we will be sharing things that the children are enjoying doing during Lockdown. (Maybe you could have a think about what you would like to say children.)
Again, we would like to say a huge “thank you” all for your support and co-operation this week. We really do appreciate all that you are doing to help the children with their learning at home and all of the emails and photos that you are sending to us, it really is important to us to try keep our class together even if it is virtually.
Please do continue to email us and keep in contact. We are here to help where we can and to keep the children learning.
Take care and stay safe
