Year 5 Remote Learning Tuesday 11th January

Good morning everyone. We will be following the learning together at school and at home. Today we begin with our writing!

LESSON 1 ENGLISH OUTCOME 3 - ROBIN HOOD THE LEGEND

Yesterday we read the opening of the Legend Robin Hood which Mrs Hotchkiss had written at home. We looked at the grammar features she had used and the powerful words she had chosen too. Then went on to plan the writing - sharing our ideas with class mates and parents at home. Today we are going to write the extract - the part of the story when Robin comes to rescue his Merrymen. In school you will need your creative writing books. Children at home please find your work ready in purple Mash. I have made a short film explaining the expectation and the marking process. See Monday for printout of Toolbox.

LESSON 2 MATHS - FACTORS AND PRIME NUMBERS

Today we continue with our understanding of factors and prime numbers. Remember:

Factors come in pairs.

Factors pairs make an array (rectangle or square)

Multiples have factors

Greater numbers DO NOT necessarily have more factors.

1 is always a factor of any number and 0 is never a factor

Follow the film very carefully - even though I have placed some of the prompts in purple mash - all the models today need to be drawn in your book. Take pictures of your work.

LESSON 3 FRENCH

Madame Jefferson is due to return today as a keyworker in school. To keep up with our French at home. Please work through the BBC lesson found in the link below.

LESSON 4 HISTORY CRIME AND PUNISHMENT

Well done great job today!
