This year, we are once again supporting the local Christmas Tree Recycling Appeal, at Our Lady’s. The Trinity Hospice runs the appeal, whereby you can recycle your real tree, once the festivities are over and the Decs are down. The trees are then used to help support the ongoing Sand Dune Conservation Project. Volunteers, including our very own Eco Council, help to plant the trees and use their branches to weave fencing. This helps to conserve our beaches, with it being a natural barrier, it is ideal for new dunes and habitats to form, allowing our local wildlife to flourish.
All you need to do is visit the Trinity Hospice website, where you can arrange a pick up slot for Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th January 2022 or take you tree along to any of the following drop off points.
Coastguard Station, North Beach, St Annes
Lytham Station Car Park
Rawstorne Sports Centre, Bush Lane, Freckleton.
Ellswick Village Hall, Ellswick
William Segar Hodgeson Car Park, Kirkham
Last year was a record breaking year for tree donations, with 1,800 trees being donated and recycled. This in turn, raising £23,000 for Trinity. With your help, we can make this year even better!
I am currently arranging a trip for the Our Lady’s Eco Council to help with the planting in early February. More details will follow for this, in the New Year.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
