Art News… Week 5
Christmas has arrived at Our Lady’s, the hall is decorated beautifully and the walls are covered in the children’s festive promises and wishes.
In Art…
Reception made their special card by using hand prints and paint, these will come home during the last week of term.
Year one made Royal crowns, using their cutting and sticking skills. This fits in with their History topic and will come home soon.
Year two created a magic garden in clay during their 3D lesson, rolling, squeezing and picnhing the clay.
Year three worked on their cutting skills as they created a collage in the style of Henri Matisse.
Year four took to their watercolours again, concentrating on skies and seas in the style of JMW Turner. *Please note that every child in Year four will need a shoe box for DT after Christmas, please send them in named asap, many thanks.)
Year five completed their reduction block prints and mounted and framed their work. These are now on display outside their classroom.
Year six had a deadline to meet, as the time was running out to finish their cross stitch cards, ready for making into their Christmas cards next week.
Art Club finished their final session by decorating a cute little bird house, these were decorated festively and have gone home to be proudly place on their Christmas trees. I will let the children know who will be in the next Art club after Christmas.
Jess in year five has brought in her latest Blue Peter badge, so she could be added to the Blue Peter wall in the Create room. She got it for her Echo work. If you would like to join Jess on the celebration wall, have a look on the Blue Peter website, to see how you could claim yours. Once you have been awarded one bring it to show me and tell me what you did to earn it and I’ll take your photo and put you proudly on the wall.
It has turned much colder this past week and in the Create room we are keeping all the doors and windows open inline with Government advise. If your child is feeling the cold, they may bring in an extra hoody to wear in Art (I am wrapped up in many layers).
Have a wonderful weekend, I know many Christmas decorations and trees are being put up. Stay safe.
God bless
Mrs Curtis
