Art News… Week 2
Another fabulous week at school, the sun has been shining and the learning has been fun!
In Art…
Year one listened to a story about a dragon who lives in my garden called Fred and how we met. After we drew a scene from the story and used watercolour paints to bring it alive with colour.
Year two watched a film of a poem by Edward Lear called ‘The Quangle Wangle’s Hat’. This is a nonsense poem and quite jolly, we drew what we thought the hat and creatures could like like and painted it with watercolour paints.
Year three had great fun with dying fabric. We used a pipette and Brusho dye to squeeze the dye onto the fabric and watched the colours merge into each other. These will be used in lessons coming up.
Year four did some mono printing, we designed our own African inspired pattern, carved it into the foam press print and created beautiful prints.
Year five used the fabric they destroyed last week to construct a new item, we weaved it around an embroidery hoop. These are now mounted onto card and will make lovely coasters.
Year six had fun creating Pop Art self portraits and are going to be displayed in the Create room.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Stay safe
God bless
