Art News… Week Five
One more week before we break up for half term and lots of learning and fun to fit in. It’s hard to believe that we only have seven more school weeks left of this school year and what a year it has been, but we are still standing, we are still together, we are still united. What a family!
In Art…
Year one made some negative stencils and using a sponge and paint created lovely patterns.
Year two used positive and negative stencils, showing how their cutting skills have grown this year. We used paint and sponges to make colourful patterns.
Year three created their entries for the Royal Mail Stamp Competition on who is their Covid Hero. These look fabulous and I am pleased to say, these have been added to the rest of the schools entrees and posted to the competition head quarters. Good luck everyone.
Year four used the collagraph blocks we made last week and using printing ink and a roller, we created four prints onto different coloured papers.
Year five consolidated their basic cross stitch skills and some even tried some new stitches. Next week we will be making a pretty coaster using these stiches.
Year six took their analytical drawing from last week and created a printing block of their best picture. This was then printed onto card using a roller and printing ink, we added a layer of crushed tissue paper, and re printed over the top adding another layer of tissue to give a textured finish. These will be displayed in the school building.
Have a lovely weekend, hopefully the weather will be kind to us. Stay safe.
God bless
Mrs Curtis
