‘Be present in all things and thankful for all things.’

It’s been another busy week in Reception and this week we have taken time to reflect and be thankful.
We began our RE topic by focusing on God’s world and creation. The children visited our school chapel and gathered together to think about the world God has created and what we are thankful for. It was wonderful to hear them share their own ideas and listen to the ideas of others. Back in class, we worked together to draw the things we are thankful for which has been a fantastic start to our shared RE book.

We have also been excited to see some changes to our outdoor classroom. The children were particularly excited by the construction area and it was amazing to see how they have engaged so enthusiastically. We have seen amazing architects, creative constructors and busy builders, all working together as a team. This new area may explain some of the dusty shoes and uniforms at the end of the day (apologies!) but it’s a sign of lots of learning and fun!

Take a look at what we have been doing this week…

Tommy Turtle and Lizzie Ladybird

This week we have met Try Again Tommy Turtle and Reflective Lizzie Ladybird.
It is amazing to see the children’s enthusiasm for the different characters and the pride they show when they are striving to use these characteristics in school. We have been so impressed that we just had to celebrate by sharing and displaying these moments in our classroom.

Certificates!

Brave Tommy Turtle: Maya
Maya you were a brave Tommy Turtle in our PE lesson this week. You didn’t give up, even when you found the throwing game challenging. You kept trying and I could see how you were listening to advice from the teachers. It was wonderful to see your face light up with pride when you achieved it! Well done for being a brave learner Maya, that is how we grow!

Enthusiastic Bobby Bee: Annabelle
Annabelle, your genuine enthusiasm for learning is amazing and you have told us about all the things you are excited to learn whilst in Reception. This week you were beaming with pride when you had practised your letter formation shared your name writing with your teachers, and we were very proud too! Keep up this fantastic enthusiasm, a wonderful learning adventure lies ahead!
