After working with the children this week, we feel nothing but pride. The way the children have come in to school every day and giving their absolute best, no matter how they are feeling on the inside, is truly amazing! Each one of them are overcoming barriers and challenges, no matter how big or how small and this process is making them see, that hard work, over a long period of time, really does pay off. Today we celebrated all the children, not on their marks of their final practice papers, but on the progress they have made and for some, this has been huge! We have worked SUPER hard this week on the areas we needed to, as well as an exciting PE lesson where we continued to look at our running, jumping and throwing skills. The children had great fun, problem solving how to get across ‘the river’ with their partners using only two hoops! Today we also celebrated this weekend’s celebrations with a beautiful whole school assembly and our wonderful Coronation picnic with our Reception buddies. We had a wonderful morning wearing our crowns, ready to welcome our new monarch…
Going Forward …
Tuesday will be the start of the children’s SAT’s journey and they are extremely ready for this! There will, of course, be some nerves and anticipation this weekend on the run up, but the most important thing to do over the next few days is to relax, exercise, have plenty of sleep and eat healthy. We need those brains ready and raring to go! If the children, or you, would like to do a little revision to keep their learning ticking over then, we have sent a a word class revision map to prepare them for their grammar on Tuesday, a grammar paper and a short reading task to do. This is not compulsory; however, it may just give them a bit of practice and confidence before the week begins. On Friday, the children set up the hall ready for Tuesday, so they all know exactly what they are walking in to and where to sit, think there was even some excitement by the time we left the hall!
Next week’s timetable is as follows so that you know which each day holds. Please ensure that your child is in school on time after a really good night sleep and a substantial breakfast…
Tuesday am: Grammar, punctuation and Spelling test.
pm: reading revision focus
Wednesday am: Reading test
Pm: Maths revision focus
Thursday am: Arithmetic and Reasoning 1 test

Leading Learners
Well done to Stephanie and Jacob this week.
Wow Steph, your resilience and determination have shone over the last few weeks and boy can you see it in the progress you have made. We are so proud of how you have blossomed and grown in confidence, you now believe in yourself so much more! You identified areas you wanted to work on and have gone out and actively worked on this yourself- this independence and self-reflection will serve you well in the future!
What a determined young man you are Jacob! You know exactly what you want to achieve and what it takes to get there! Your positive mindset, determined approach but your ability to make mistakes and learn from them have served you well. We are so proud of how hard your working and what focus you have in class.
Attentive and Discerning Butterflies
This half term we will be on the lookout for all the children that are attentive to the big and small things, and to the response of others. We will also be spotting children who are discerning, who listen to what God’s calls us to be. This week we thank Kai for being attentive and discerning.
This week we will take a break form helping in the mornings and start again the following week- thank you!
