Our class worship this week was led by Edward, Sasha and Danny. They read with such confidence and led the class in prayer as our prayer leaders.
Next week Patrick, Bonnie and Wren will lead us in prayer and share their liturgy with the class.
Thank you to those parents who were able to walk down to Harvest Mass with us this morning, the sun shone for us and the service was beautiful. We have spoken in class this week, about how we can love and appreciate God’s gifts for us and mass was a great way to finish off the week and celebrate these gifts.
We’ve continued to prayer the Rosary each day, it has been lovely to see some of the children’s own Rosarys from home. If your child has a Rosary at home please send them in.
.In RE we discussed poetry and symbolism in Genesis. I wonder if your child can remember what each of these symbols represents…the snake? The tree? The Garden? Adam and Eve?
We’ve been amazing mathematicians this week - I’m so proud of the children focus and enthusiasm to learn. This week has all been all about 100! What is 100 made up of? How many 10’s are in 100? Can we decompose 100 in different ways? How may 20s? 50s? 25s?
We used our number bond to 10 to help us identify multiples of 10 that make 100 eg. If i know that 4 + 6 = 10 then I know that 40 + 60 = 100.
On Friday we took our learning to the next step and tried to identify 2 digit numbers that made 100! It was really tricky and is something we will work on more next week.
Paddington Bear continues to get into mischief in our class novel, this week we heard about how he ruined one of Mr Brown’s paintings but then went on to win a prize in an art exhibition!
We are loving our new spelling scheme of work, it’s full of fun games and puzzles to help the children remember spelling rules and tricky words. This week the children have had a go at Triangle words! Next week instead of the usual look, cover, write, check spelling homework I will send some triangle words instead - mix it up a bit!
On Wednesday afternoon the children spent enrichment with Mrs Hotchkiss gardening - from the state of their clothes and muddy wellingtons it looks like they had a great time. They’re cleared all the beds in the allotment ready for winter. Well done year 3!
