Worship
Our class worship was led by Michael, Marla and Logan. We practised being still and reflective, and spent a few minutes thinking about how we have been intentional this week. We listened to the story of the runaway (Genesis 31) and listened to how Esau forgave his brother, something we know is not always easy.
On Thursday we watched the Mark 10 Mission episode here. We listened to the story of the Good Samaritan, a parable about a man who is beaten up by robbers and left by the side of the road. He meets a Samaritan who cares for him. Greg helps us to pray with this beautiful parable, showing us beautiful symbols and actions. We pray for Jesus to heal any of our hurts and sing with Sr Chiara. I’ve popped a link below for the mission file to accompany the liturgy below. If you’re not able to print at home they will be available in class for the children to bring home and enjoy with you.
Our learning this week…
Maths - This week the children have been looking at Roman Numerals with Miss Bassett, Can they spot any roman numerals at home this week? Can they teach you our roman numerals song…enjoy!
We’ve also been looking at place value of 3 digit numbers and ways 3 digit numbers they can be represented - with base 10, numerals and in place value grids.
English - Our new unit of work is called The Green children. We have been looking at pictures, making statements about what we can see and notice. We thought about questions we could ask to find out more. One of the pictures was from a book by Quentin Blake, Vincent immediately recognised his style of drawing and made links with Roald Dahl books that had illustrated. You can listen to the story here. We’ve also read The Weed by Quentin Blake.
Spelling - The focus spelling focus this week is plural nouns where the ‘y’ is dropped, replaced with an ‘i’ and ‘es’ added. Words like party become parties, baby becomes babies etc.
In French we’ve continued learning our colours in french, next week we will be looking a shapes.
