After a rainy trip up the M6, the clouds parted and a rainbow shone brightly, almost guiding our way to Castlerigg. The coach was emptied of the bags, some much heavier than others, and after their packed lunch, they were welcomed by the Castlerigg staff who are all beautiful and have fully integrated our children into the way of life here.
The theme of these next three days is, Shining our Light - something we do so well. The children have played some ice breaker games, split into smaller teams and have completed their contract for the week. This is things that they are all going to try and do to shine their light with others. I think you will see from the photographs, just how much fun the children are having - and in such a short amount of time.
As I sit and type this, the children have just demolished southern chicken wraps, salad and fries. We will then finish the day with a creative workshop and then night time prayer.
I am so blessed to spend this time with the children this week, in such a beautiful location. The views from the children’s bedrooms are stunning. Enjoy the photos and sleep well tonight.
Good night from Castlerigg day 1
