"I am the vine…you are the branches; He who abides in me and I in him will bear much fruit."
This week we look at John gopsel and looked very closely at the image above and what Jesus was teaching us. There were many beautify interpretations as we looked closely at the art work. Some said that ‘this showed that God is our support and strength’. We then listen to the gospel and dicsussed how Jesus wants us to know that we are branches who cannot stand alone. Jesus himself is our gardener who continuously nourishes our spirit. If we remain faithful to Him, our life will prosper and bear much fruit. If we remain loyal to our belief, the hard work we did will result into more than we ever expected.
Continuing to learn…
We only have one more (short) week until SAT’s. It is vital over this long weekend that children continue to revise and work towards their targets. I have set some papers to complete over the week for children to have a go at, but there are other areas that are unique to them as individuals that they know they also have to practice. Please have a look at the homework page and have the conversation with them to see how best to support them with their revision. This week we have had a practise SAT’s week, where every day they have took one mock. We are so proud how they have tackle this with such a positive attitude and resilience!
This week, we had our enrichment morning where Year 6 went to Year 1 to learn some science with Miss Drummond. They looked at the changes of state, whilst making their very own edible rock forms- think they enjoyed eating it the most!
English - This week we have learnt all about the three different forms of tense: simple, progressive and perfect.
Maths - We have grapled algebra with Mrs Gregan, tackled some tricky ratio problems with Mrs Harrison, revised Roman Numerals with Mrs Webster and also revised converting measures, which we will contunue next week.
Delving deeper through talk …
Every week now I am going to give you a question that I would like you to explore together and discuss at home. This could be over the dinner time as a family, at bedtime, on a walk or even in the car. How ever you choose to discuss this question is up to you, but the idea is that it will help to give an insight in to what we talk about in school, help children to understand more about themselves or others.
Cna you explain to your parents the difference between simple, perfect and progressive tense?
With only one week left until SAT’s what is the one area you want to practise and master?
Learned and Wise butterflies
This half term we will be on the lookout for all the children that are learned in their actions, finding God in all things. Those who are wise, who use their learning for the common good. These children are the role models of the school, who drive their own learning and who have the wisdom to know when and how to apply one’s learning. This week we thank Emilia and Matilda for working for the common good of our classroom this week.
Leading Learners
Well done to Ruby-Lily and Connor-Sean this week.
Ruby-Lily It is so important to apply the skills you have been taught and to do this independently- you have shown that you CAN. You have learnt to be thorough, take your time but mostly believe in yourself as you can do anything you put your mind to! Well done for reflecting on feedback and doing what you can to improve.
Connor-Sean, we are so proud of your attitude towards your learning. You are always so focused and ready to learn. You are also very honest about what you need to work on and are always happy to share this, always rising to a challenge or when someone asks you to dig deeper. We love how you are competitive with yourself, you don’t focus on marks just the progress you make, and goodness me are you making progress! Well done Connor-Sean!
