It is WORLD BOOK DAY! Today I have decided to just focus on English and our love of reading with some fun tasks and activities. We will be finishing off our SKELLIG piece of writing and taking part in a writing competition.
Task 1 - Let’s start World Book Day by reading to the end of our book.
Grab your favourite drink, find a cosy place and get lost in the end of the book.
Task 2 - All about Skellig - TWO DAY WRITING TASK.
Today you are going to start writing your non-chronological report on SKELLIG. I think you gathered enough content yesterday to be able to write about this fascinating character.
The format will follow the same format as the owl non-chronological report. Use the information that you gathered, the sentence openers that you have already collected and write me a fascinating non-chronological report on SKELLIG.
Task 3 - BBC Live Lesson - 11:30am
Just like on Online Safety Day, there is a live lesson on CBBC or on the iPlayer at 11:30am.

Task 4 - WORLD BOOK DAY WRITING COMPETITION
The Book of Hope Competition is a chance for children to write about what hope means to them.
We want to encourage you to think about the things that make you and others around you happy. These may be events and activities you are looking forward to. There has been a great deal of challenge over the last year but now is a time to look forward with a feeling of hope and expectation.
You can write about anything to do with Hope in 221 words or less, choosing one of the three writing activities in the picture above.
There will be three winning entries from Year 6 in the Under 12 category. Submit your entries and you may be in with a chance of going forward.
Task 5 - Your favourite book cover brought to life!
What is your favourite book? Do you have a book cover? How can you bring it to life?
There are lots of different ways that you can bring your book to life…a painting, a collage, a 3D model. The choice is yours.
Make it A4, so that it can be displayed proudly in class. There are some ideas for you below.
