‘The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.’

It’s been a busy week in Reception are Nativity filming is almost complete and we can’t wait to share our film with you next Friday. The children have loved dressing up and taking on different roles and standing on the stage was a big highlight!

Earlier in the week during RE we thought about Mary and how she felt when Angel Gabriel told her she was going to have a special baby. We came up with some very thoughtful questions to ask Mary.

We finished our week making our own Christmas stories, we would in our house teams and shared our ideas of different characters, settings, problems and solutions. It was great fun to share ideas. We even had a go at writing our stories…look at all those letters!

In Read Write Inc this week we have learnt three new sounds and had more fun segmenting and blending words orally.

For ‘y..y..y’ we go ‘down the horn, up the horn and under the yak’s head’.

For ‘wwwww’ we go ‘down, up, down, up the worm’.

For ‘ttthhh’ we remind ourselves to write t then h by saying ‘the horse rescues the princess from the tower and she says, thank you.’

Let’s Celebrate

Heidi and Blythe are Enthusiastic Bobby Bees - For being very enthusiastic during our Nativity rehearsals, with some great ideas for our angel dance. You have been incredibly mature and sensible Christmas angels. Well done Heidi and Blythe!
