Welcome back to Year 3- 'Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable'...

I hope you have all had a wonderful summer holiday, full of fun, relaxation and most importantly family time. I am really looking forward to seeing you all after a long summer and starting our learning journey together in the juniors. As you all know, you are not the only ones who have not been in Year 3 before, as I also will be new to the year group, but we have plenty of exciting learning to look forward to and lots of new opportunities.

With less than a week to go before we start back. I wanted to share the following information with you…

  • Year 3 will now be allowed to bring in their own pencil cases (a very exciting time for some of them). It is vital however, that they are not too ornate and are of an appropriate size. The pencil cases will need to fit it in their trays and any that can not fit will unfortunately be sent back home. While the children are allowed pencil cases, it is not essential as all stationery is available in the classroom, we just know they like to bring their own equipment as they have now entered the juniors and become much more responsible. The following stationery items are the only ones that should be found: pencils (pens are not needed until they have received a pen licence), rubber and ruler. Pencil crayons and felt tips are optional, as we have plenty in the classroom. We advise the children do not bring any items in their pencil case that are valuable, of sentimental value or that may distract them from their learning.

  • PE days: Outdoor PE will be held on Tuesdays and indoor PE is on Wednesdays, where we are lucky enough to have a yoga session in the morning and then a further PE session for either dance or gymnastics in the afternoon. Can we please ensure that PE kits follow the school policy- trainers white or blue

  • Welcome mass for the new year will be Thursday 5th September at 10am.

  • Year 3 Induction Night - Wednesday 11th September at 6pm. This is a great opportunity for you to find out all about the learning and routines of the Year 3 classroom and of course to ask those questions. Please try to join us on this evening.

  • Homework will be sent out Thursday’s and is due back on Wednesday’s.

I look forward to welcoming all the children into Year 3 next Tuesday morning, this is always a vital time to greet each child individually as they enter their new classroom. On their first day they will meet all the members of staff that are working with them throughout the year: myself (Mrs Harrison), Mrs Nel, Miss Brisco and Mrs Carter. Each teacher is equally as excited to greet them back to school.

    Kind regards

    Mrs Harrison
