What has been everyone’s favourite learning challenge so far this week? It has been lovely to see all your photos again this week, we really do appreciate your effort in sending them to us and keeping us up to date with how you are getting on. Keep up the great work!

English
Please make sure that you are reading - 30 minutes each day.
When you have finished your book, please make sure that you quiz on Accelerated Reader. We have set new targets. How quickly can you meet yours? What is your favourite place to read? How many books have you read recently? What has been your favourite book since Home Learning began?
Poetry
Read the poem The Magic Box - by Kit Wright
Read the poem carefully and think about the pictures that the poet is creating. (If you really wanted you could draw what you see in the poem)
What is your favourite part? Why?
The poet uses lots of different senses as he writes the poem - can you find, highlight (use a different colour for each sense) and label parts of the poem which refer to different senses? If you can’t print the poem off, don’t worry, you can just copy and label the parts which refer to the different senses.
Can you spot anything else that the poet has done as he has written? (adjectives, powerful verbs, alliteration) You can either highlight and annotate these too or make a labelled list of these other features.
Make sure that your handwriting is neat, joined and small please. Remember pen points!!!
Practise reading the poem again so that you can perform it to someone. Think about your expression, your speed and the volume of your voice. Perform it to someone. (You could even video it and send it to us for the website!!!)
Art
One of my favourite subjects! Go and see what great challenge Mrs Curtis has added for you to do today. Enjoy! Don’t forget to send us some pictures of your work.
