Good morning Year 6 - I hope you had a great day yesterday. Don’t forget Mrs Curtis’s art lesson too! Yesterday was Shakespeare’s birthday so I thought I would show you everything that we now say because of him. How many of these phrases can you manage to say today?
MATHS - WHITE ROSE HOME LEARNING - Summer Term Week 1 Lesson 3 Angles in a triangle -s special cases.
Please complete the learning by watching the video and completing the work that has been set. Mark your own work and correct anything that needs correcting.
Sumdog - Measuring and estimating angles. There is a 50 question target on this.
ENGLISH - ROMEO AND JULIET ACT 3 SCENE 2 - Juliet’s letter to Romeo Day 2 of your task. Remember to submit on Purple Mash once you have finished.
This is a two day task to give you time to write, edit and then present your writing. You are to write a letter of disappointment and torment, from Juliet to Romeo, conveying the language of the time. Have a watch of my video below.
Science - Who is Jane Goodall?
Today’s science lesson is a research task all about Jane Goodall? Can you find out who she is and what her work involved? Think about how you are going to present your findings and your research.
As an optional task, you might want to do a piece of art work of the mammal of your choice. You can use whatever you want to bring your favourite animal to life. I would love to see them!
High School Transition - As part of your transition to high school, I need to put you into form groups. I usually do this based on the friendship groups that you tell me for your bedrooms at Water Parks. As I did not get that information from you, I need YOU to email me. Either to n.gregan@ourladystarofthesea.lancs.sch.uk or via Purple Mash. This has to come from you and not your parents. High school is about being independent so I want to hear from you directly. I would like 5 friends emailing to me who you would like to be in the same form as. You will not be able to be with all five but I will make sure you are with a selection.
I also want you to start thinking about your favourite Our Ladys memory. This can be from nursery - right the way through to Year 6. Something that stands out to you as a memory which will not be forgotten and may have had a profound impact on you. It can be anything, the day you met a new friend, a school trip, a sporting moment, a lesson - anything. Get thinking! I will be asking you to do something with it in coming weeks.
Don’t forget to join the school community with three Hail Marys at 7pm tonight.
