3. Oxford Owl: Login to Oxford Owl and read your next book. Remember to discuss the story throughout, checking your child’s understanding. Please make a note of any sounds or tricky words that your child struggles with and focus on these throughout the next few days/until they know them.

Today’s specific activities:

1. Literacy: Talk 4 Writing: Please have a look at the PDF below. Talk for writing have released a pack for home learning to develop our children’s speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. The story that the children will learn has lots of wonderful descriptive vocabulary, which will really help to grow your child’s vocabulary and understanding.

Once you have had a little look through the PDF please follow this link to listen to the story. In Reception we like to make little actions to help us remember the story, and some of the special vocabulary. You might like to ask your child to do this at home too. https://soundcloud.com/talkforwriting/mavis

2.  Sum Dog: This week I would like you to practise ordering numbers to 10, enjoy!

3. RE: Today I would like you to hear how one of Jesus’ friends, Mary Magdalene, found out that he was alive again, and why this is a very important story.

When watching the story it would be worth discussing some of the vocabulary which your child might not understand (resurrected, Sabbath, sundown, observe, tomb, anoint). Following the video I would like you to discuss your thoughts and ask any questions about what you have learnt. Now, I would like you to think particularly about the moment that Mary saw the angel. How do you think she felt? What do you understand about angels?

Activity: Could you create your own hand print angel. This could go in your yellow book, along with a little summery about your discussion.
