Home Learning - Friday 3rd July 2020

Good morning Year 6. Welcome to Friday, you final formal lessons of the week and of this half term. There will be a different set of lessons next week and require you to work just like you are at high school.

I need your help…in two weeks I will be taking over the Year 5 website for their induction week into Year 6. Because they won’t have the chance to meet me, I want to start by introducing myself properly and telling them a little about me. Could you all get involved? If you could choose one word to describe me, what would it be (be nice)? Can you film yourself saying your chosen word about me and then send it across, “Mrs Gregan is…”. or send a photo of you with your word? I can then make a little video of the words attached to my video that I will be making.

I will be getting you involved in more things over the next week - if you could help me out, I would really appreciate it! You know Year 6 and me better than most people at the moment. Year 5 respect you so it is important that they hear what Year 6 is like from you.

This is our learning timetable for the week. I realise that everyone works slightly differently and you like to see what is coming up over the week. I have attached my visual timetable for the week so you can plan better. Where there is a little camera, that means that I will be filming that lesson for you.

I NEED A PHOTO OF YOU ALL FOR OUR MEMORY BOOK.

Get your school uniform back on and make a sign that says Year 6 2019-2020. Hold your sign and have a photo taken. You can design, paint, print your sign, it is up to you! Please can you send me these asap. Thank you.

I AM WAITING FOR OVER HALF OF THE CLASS STILL FOR THESE…PLEASE CAN THEY COME IN TODAY SO THAT THE MEMORY BOOK CAN BE COMPLETED…THANK YOU.

Science Shopping List -

Tomorrow you will have a 2 day practical science lesson where you will understand reversible and irreversible changes. You will need some ingredients to complete the challenges. Don’t worry if you can’t get everything, you can complete these experiments over the next two days:

milk, vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, balloon, plastic bottle, 300ml cream, caster sugar, vanilla essence, ice cubes, rock salt, 1 medium zipped bag, 1 large zipped bag, tea towel/gloves

English - Wonder Week 7 Lesson 4 BOOK REVIEW SO FAR

Today, I would like you to complete a book review on Wonder so far. Think about how much we have read and how much detail you know about the book.

Once you have completed your book review I would like you to SHARE it to a class display board on Purple Mash. I have created a display board called Year 6 Book Wonder Reviews. I want you to do a little bit of problem solving. Once you have saved your work, how can you then publish it onto the class display board? Once you submit your work to the board, I will then be able to approve it and it will appear. See if you can figure it out.

Maths - We have now completed all of the algebra strands on White Rose. Consolidate your understanding of unit of measurement using IXL. Over the next three days can you complete the X strand? There are 13 sections to it and will consolidate the work that we have been looking at in maths over the past few months.

Units of Measurement X1 - X13
