“Creative play is like a spring that bubbles up from deep within a child.” ~ Joan Almon

This week we have welcomed the newest members to Our Lady’s family, with the Reception children joining us full time. The Foundation and Lunchtime Team have been overjoyed with how quickly the children have settled into the lunchtime routines and it has been a delight to see them play and form new friendships.

We have been particularly blessed this week with endless sunshine, which has brightened the mood of everyone in school. Inventive games have been plentiful, with hoola- hooping, hopscotch, skipping races and playing shops. Some children choose to make the most of the autumn sun by finding a quiet place to just lie down, soak up the golden rays and relax. Whatever the children choose to do, they did so with love, laughter and a gratefulness for having the opportunity to spend some free time with their friends.

Mr Nay has been focusing on kicking skills, with games of kick rounders and fine tuning throwing skills by providing various targets for the children to aim at. Be it a big or small target, near or far, the children have risen to the challenges and succeeded wonderfully at hitting the the spot. With huge smiles on their faces and a sense of achievement, they have returned to class with eagerness and pride.
