Art News… Lockdown… Week 4
Another week of successful Remote and School learning here at Our Ladys. Everyone is now settling into a routine and feeling more settled. It is lovely receiving emails containing your artwork and messages, they really do make me smile. All the Art activities are things you should be able to do with very little equipment and should take between 30 minutes and an hour to complete.
In Art this week…
Reception remote learners have been busy creating a lovely family portrait including their pets, it’s lovely to see your whole family in you pictures.
Year one remote learners designed a woolly bobble hat, using bright colours and jazzy patterns. School learners made a beautiful clay dish with impressions into he clay, we had to roll the clay with a rolling pin and cut the correct shape, all very tricky. * Remember that you will need a loo roll tube or kitchen roll tube for next week’s activity, so don’t throw them away.
Year two remote learners made a Lego character based on themselves. School learners used the relief blocks made last week to print with, using paint onto both paper and fabric, these looked amazing.
Year three remote learners were challenged to make a sculpture from paper, using glue or tape, amazing sculptures were created. School learners made printing pads with their animal skin designs on and using the correct colours made beautiful prints.
Year four remote learners had to find objects from around their home and incorporate them into their drawings, these were super fun and very clever. School learners completed their slipper art and added the decoration to the slippers and created an advertisement for selling them. These are now proudly displayed in the corridor outside the Create room.
Year five remote learners had a choice this week, first choice was to make a tinfoil man and the second choice was to create a half human, half animal creature, they could draw, colour or paint them. School learners added the Mod-Roc skin to their Alberto Giacometti inspired statues, this is very messy to work with but the results are fantastic. Next week we will paint them in metallic paints.
Year six remote learners had the challenge to use things from their homes and draw with them included in the picture. This is so much fun and the possibilities are endless. School learners added the modifications to their rainforest masks now the brown gummed paper covered balloon was cut in half. a final layer of gummed paper was added all over.
Have a restful weekend, we’ve all earned it! Hopefully the rain will stay away and we’ll have the chance for a nice long walk.
Stay safe
God bless
