“Play energizes us and enlivens us. It eases our burdens. It renews our natural sense of optimism and opens us up to new possibilities.” ~ Stuart Brown,

The playground has been full of energised children this week, during lunchtime play. Games of Floor is Lava, Tig, Stuck in the Mud and Hop Scotch, have been played. It is lovely to see that the staffs childhood games are still going as strong as ever, as they reminisce of by gone days. It is also lovely to see how creative the children are being with their playtime equipment. A ball and scoop becomes a helmet for a robot or a Dalek, a quoit becomes a crown and a sports comne becomes a triple chocolate ice cream! Super Heros have saved the day, as horses have galloped around and a firm favourite for all age groups, Duck, Duck, Goose. For those children who have a passion for sport, have spent their free time playing football, tennis, basketball and racing, all the time, keeping those fundamental skills developing.

Whatever your children have been playing, they have done so with love, compassion and understanding, making Our Lady’s playground such a special place to be.
